An English course is a real investment of time, energy and budget. A good decision should be based on what happens after registration, not only on a campaign price or a polished reception area.
1. How is my level determined?
A reliable programme should assess your starting point before placing you in a group. Ask whether placement considers more than a short grammar quiz and what happens if the level proves unsuitable.
2. How many learners are in the class?
Class size directly affects speaking time and individual feedback. Ask for the expected group size in writing and whether the limit changes after the course begins.
3. What will I do during a typical lesson?
Look for a balance of listening, speaking, reading and writing. If most of the lesson is teacher explanation, you may understand the rules without becoming able to use them.
4. How are absences and missed topics handled?
Life happens. Ask about make-up support, material access and how you can catch up without slowing the group.
5. How will progress be measured?
Useful feedback should tell you which skills improved and which need work. A score alone is not enough if no one explains what it means.
6. Does the schedule work in real life?
The best syllabus cannot help if you regularly miss class. Consider your commute, work finish time and how much independent study the programme expects.
7. Can I see the learning environment?
Visit the branch if possible. Observe classroom size, noise, accessibility and transport. Ask the questions you would otherwise discover only after enrolment.
